Well READ is an award-winning half-hour weekly television program airing on public broadcasting stations in all 25 top media markets in the United States plus Vancouver B.C. and Toronto, Canada. Host Elisa Jaffe, winner of an Edward R. Murrow Award and multiple Emmys, interviews leading authors about their new books, writing process and body of work. Each episode features further reading recommendations by Seattle Times Book Editor Mary Ann Gwinn, Vice-President of the National Book Critics Circle. The series is supported by WellRead.org, a robust website with 5,500+ active book club members and 14.4k+ Facebook fans. An education program for teachers is being developed for rollout in fall 2016.
Produced and distributed to public television since May 2012, Well READ is an independent production of TVW (Washington Public Affairs Network) and Two Dogs Barking Productions; and is presented for distribution by Detroit Public Television (DPTV).
